Marit Gurley
Marit Gurley is a Managing Attorney with Karam Law. She engages in firm operations management, leads the firm’s business immigration practice, and manages immigration matters for employers ranging from Fortune 100 to start-up companies. Marit assists clients in obtaining temporary and permanent immigration status, develops corporate immigration policies and procedures, and conducts compliance training for employers. Aside from her business immigration practice, Marit also represents victims of labor trafficking and applicants for adjustment of status and naturalization.
Marit has always been interested in learning about other cultures and new languages. She became particularly excited about working in the field of U.S. immigration law after her time studying abroad in both Spain and Ecuador.
Marit graduated magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2012. She graduated magna cum laude from Augustana University, located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 2009. She received her undergrad degree in Business / Communications and Spanish, and a minor in Journalism. During undergrad, Marit studied abroad in Quito, Ecuador and Salamanca, Spain.
As an advocate for mentorship, Marit has volunteered as a mentor for the University of St. Thomas School of Law, The Advocates for Human Rights, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
